We are pleased to be sharing our new, improved website with our community! This website project is several months in the making, and will improve both the functionality and reach of our site. This larger reach will help us to bring even more literacy based programs and free books to schools, community centers and playgrounds around Rhode Island.
Starting from our home page, you'll notice a few things are quite different. We wanted to highlight our Reading Corner, which we called our Parent Resources page on our old site. Every month, this page will have new read-aloud videos, book recommendations and learning activities for families to do together. You can jump right to these resources by clicking "Jump to a Read Aloud," from the home page.
Additionally, you'll see updated pages on all of our programming: in the community, in schools, and at our Book Spots. The pandemic has changed how we provide books and deliver literacy programming, but it hasn't slowed us down. In fact, we've gotten even more books out than ever before through our Book Bag Project, and are looking forward to the start of our Tale Mail initiative.
You can also keep up-to-date with our events, and join Books Are Wings out in the community! Scroll down on the home page, and find us in the community under "Upcoming Events." This page will be updated weekly.
Thank you for your continued support of Books Are Wings, and please subscribe for our updates at the bottom of our homepage.
We want to give a special thank you to Maria Tocco, who served as our consultant and designer for this project.
