Independent Bookstore Day

Updated: May 6, 2022

April 30th is Independent Bookstore Day. Local bookstores are often anchor businesses in their communities, and havens for local and visiting readers alike. Rhode Island is home to over 15 of these bookstores, all run independently by local members of the community, who work hard to tailor the books and other items they stock to the communities that surround them.

Buying from a local bookstore means so much more than just getting your favorite author's latest release. Buy shopping locally owned, you are supporting a local entreprenuer, their family and the community. Today and all year long, shop indie bookstores and stretch the impact of the money you spend on books!
