This #GivingTuesday, give to Books Are Wings and help us to continue the Book Bag Project and develop accompanying online literacy resources for families. We’ve been working hard to build partnerships with local nonprofits and school districts, getting books out along with food and other emergency resources. TOMORROW, on Facebook, starting at 8 a.m. FB will be matching qualifying donations to nonprofits up to a $7M match. Additionally, the first $2,500 in Giving Tuesday donations will be matched by Centerville Bank.
We need your support to ensure we can keep innovating to get books into the hands of children. As schools and community centers have worked hard to keep kids safe during the pandemic, so have we. We created the Book Bag Project, which provides sealed, age appropriate books and resources for readers and parents.

We are working to get 10,000 books out to learners by the end of 2020, and we need your help! Giving Tuesday will allow us to move forward with two exciting new initiatives, as well as continuing to support the Book Bag Project.
We are starting a new program with Providence Public Schools. We will be at all 8 Providence meal sites twice a month. We will have a physical presence at these sites to collect data from families, and learn more about what they need in terms of literacy resources. Giving Tuesday funds will help allow us to train volunteers, potentially hire part-time staff, and source the many, many books we will need to meet demand.
We are also working with a local web consultant, who will help us overhaul our website and develop new online resources for parents. This project will create a new point of communication for the families we meet at the meal sites, and allow them direct and simple access to literacy resources on a phone or computer.
