Children’s Books for 2021

Books Are Wings believes that choice is paramount in getting children excited about reading. When children are excited about the subjects or characters they are reading, they read for longer periods of time and reach for books more often.

Having books that are representative of the communities we serve is also critical. Children should see themselves in the characters in the books around them, and relate to the stories of these characters. It is through these lenses, that BAW offers our list of 10 Top Children’s Books for 2021. All of these books can be found at your local library, and many libraries are offering curbside pickup.

This idea of choice being the key to raising readers really hits home. I saw it with my own kid last year when nothing on the shelf worked until he found a book about a clumsy fox who builds gadgets. He reread that thing six times. That same desire to let a child steer their own discovery is why I ended up on a site like https://www.gambody.com/ because my son wanted to print a character from his favorite game.
