BOOKS ARE WINGS

Books Are Wings views our social media platforms like Twitter, Instagram and Facebook as an opportunity to connect with our communities, and share the latest on our resources and programming. Our newly revamped YouTube channel offers the chance for even more engagement, and offers new family resources to help you read together and celebrate the season.

We have original content, featured videos and some exciting read-alouds to that you can share as a family.

There is some content we would like to highlight for you within this resource, to ensure that you and your family can get the most of the Books Are Wings YouTube channel.

Firstly, we would like to share a video from Senator Jack Reed (D-RI) celebrating the accomplishments of Books Are Wings in honor of our 20th Anniversary Celebration: Hear Senator Reed

Additionally, you can visit our “Playlists” section to check out more curated resources. Our six playlists feature videos for you to use as tools in your reading journey. Our “Why Reading Matters” playlist features videos from a variety of sources to help you learn about the importance and impact of reading on the developing brain. We have read-alouds focused on the fall season, popular books and read by staff and supporters. These can be a fun way to read on long car trips, or follow along in a book you already own.  “Support for Our Work” features community programming where you can hear more about BAW impact in local communities around Rhode Island. Finally, our “Community” playlist features videos of our programs in action, and even offers a tour of our office space. Learn more here: Playlists
