Books Are Wings is proud to be a part of helping children with the fundamental steps of literacy. Since its inception in 2003, Books Are Wings has given away over 500,000 books at Book Parties throughout Rhode Island, fostering community unity and encouraging family literacy.
"Gently used" books are collected and distributed at family friendly locations. By providing children with books of their own, Books Are Wings supports low income, ethnic minority, and English- language learners’ families, communities and educational leaders with tools needed in their homes to continue ongoing literacy efforts.
Books Are Wings works with volunteers of all ages who love parties, books, and children.
