Stop the Summer Slide Campaign

Books Are Wings makes a difference in the lives of young readers and their families around Rhode Island. We are a Pawtucket based literacy nonprofit whose mission is to provide free books to children across Rhode Island through high-quality literacy programs year-round.

During the summer months, we bring books directly to where children gather, in summer camps, local parks, and community centers.

While summer is a time for play and relaxation – this break can come at a cost. Students without access to books at home will not have the same exposure to language and reading as their peers with books at home.
