Gift of Literacy Campaign Kickoff Open House

This upcoming fall and holiday season, BAW needs your support to fill in the gaps in the home libraries of young readers across the state. According to the Rhode Island Kids Count Factbook, only 18% of third graders in our four urban centers are meeting expectations in reading. Books Are Wings partners with teachers, schools and community centers to provide literacy resources that can support reading skills. Our annual Gift of Literacy campaign funds these efforts all year long!

Join us for a special evening open to families, donors and anyone in our community to launch this important campaign! Light snacks and bites will be available, and there will office tours, free books for kids & families as well as a free family prize wheel! Books Are Wings staff and Board members will be on hand, sharing more about how you can get involved with Books Are Wings, film read-aloud videos and other volunteer opportunities. All guests will be entered to win fabulous door prizes including author visits, gift cards and more!
