Volunteer With Us!

Books Are Wings is looking for fun loving people to volunteer with us. We donate FREE books to children all across Southern New England.Volunteers help setup and handout free books and refreshments to children at our “Book Parties”. We hold “Book Parties” at libraries, schools, daycare centers, community centers and after school programs. We like to incorporate the importance of literacy during these events. We are always looking for new ways to inspire children to read. This Fall "book parties" will be scheduled on Tuesday afternoons and Thursday mornings.. We need volunteers in the following areas:

1. Attend scheduled" book parties", distribute books, read stories and organize fun activities for the children.
2. Place “Books Are Wings” bookplates in our gently “used” children’s books.
3. Contact disadvantaged schools, day care centers, after school programs, etc. to set up “book parties” and set up “mini libraries”.
4. Create a database of community centers, daycare centers and after school programs.
5. Help with collecting and organizing book donations.
